What a Facebook “Like” button has to do with interior design and helping fight poverty

While it might not seem like poverty is a subject that comes up frequently when one is discussing Fairfield County, Connecticut, it is a very real issue.  Did you know:

  • 30% of people in Bridgeport live below the Federal Poverty Level
  • 400 people a day are fed in a homeless shelter in Norwalk
  • 1700 people are homeless in Bridgeport on any given night

Thankfully, there is Near and Far Aid, an all-volunteer fundraising and fund granting organization, dedicated to eliminating the causes and effects of poverty in Fairfield County.  A 28-member Board personally visits, evaluates and provides support to over 130 non-profit agencies fighting poverty in this area.  I am grateful to be a part of this organization.

I am also honored to be a featured designer as part of the 2011 Near & Far Aid Designer House Tour on April 29th, and we’re running a little contest to celebrate so you can learn about Near & Far Aid too.  Here’s all you have to do.

Just “Like” our Facebook page between now and April 26th, and we’ll pick out 2 names at random to enjoy the tour as our guest.  That’s a $75 value to you – Free.

  • Simply click here to visit our Facebook page and click “Like”.
  • Complete this form, so we can notify you if you win
  • That’s it … you’re entered!  Wasn’t that easy?

So, come out in support of a great organization working to end poverty in Fairfield County.

I look forward to meeting you at the event.
