International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the JAVITS Convention Center – TEXTURES!

As a continuation from last week’s blog where I revealed to you some of my favorite artisans from the International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the JAVITS Convention Center,  this week I am going to do the same, however changing the focusing to amazing textures!

Textures are a wonderful way to bring life and depth into a space, not only do they offer a visually stimulating harmonious element, they also bring a physical element as they allow you  to truly engage with the space!

Nanimarquina

This rug from Nanimarquina is called Dolce, and just as its name suggests, it is decadently smooth and plush.  Just this image captures how effortlessly smooth it would feel to run your fingers through it. I would love to have this placed beneath my feet as I would imagine myself walking through a bed of velvet flowers.

Moooi

High chairs can often times be uncomfortable and harsh when seated in, however this one from moooi looks extravagantly welcoming. Its plush upholstery offers a moment of warmth thus creating a more enjoyable experience while seated up high.

Vita Store

This Eos light from Vita is absolutely breathtaking. It captures an incredibly elegant and romantic movement as it appears to be a gift from heaven above caught in a moment of pure bliss. It is made from authentic bird feathers, each which are carefully fastened to a paper core by hand. It radiates the perfect amount of light to create a pleasantly cozy glow while also capturing a sense of mystery.

I hope now when selecting fabrics, materials and finishes, you will view them in a much more dimensional way. If you are looking for further inspiration on how to incorporate amazing textures into your space, feel free to view my work here.
