Living Behind Creative Walls

Many people are unaware of the endless possibilities of ways in which you can add life and depth into your space through walls and architectural surfaces. The options are endless when it comes to customizing and decorating the interior architecture of your spaces. I have been amazed by the breathtaking wall applications and surfaces, which I would like to share with you this week; I hope you enjoy and see walls and surfaces in a new way!

This fabulous surface by T Davlin Architectural Tile and Glass, is created and designed by acclaimed designer Michael S Smith for Ann Sacks. The collection is defined by luxury; it is pure gold or platinum leaf that is fused with faceted art glass, which creates the illusion of a lustrous and alluring surface. I would love to see this put into an executive’s office space or even a bathroom. Some people like seeing dollar signs on toilet paper how about gold bricks on the wall??

This silver-metallic wall application from Astek, inc. is also another way in which you can add a lustrous and glamorous feel into your space. I love the detailing that has been put into the seams, as well as the rustic antiqued finish. Not only does this have a feminine approach to it, but I could easily see this being used in a more masculine space.

If you are designing a space with a more natural and textured feel, these wood mosaics called Tree-d from Materials, Inc. are for you. They are a brilliant solution that creates a close connection between the beautiful wood and the moisture rich environments. Their line allows a variety of simplistic, yet dynamic wood species to radiate elegance and depth within a space. Another great feature about using Tree-D is that there is no fear or concern about deterioration in moist environments, perfect for any living environment.

Another surface that I just love are these leather tiles from Edelman leather. They are so versatile and can be applied in endless ways.  Here I have shown crocodile in antique rust; they are full grain, vegetable- tanned aniline-dyed cowhide. They can be custom created to any design that you may like. For example, I would love to see this used with a brass trim or nail heads in between the tiles. Possibly even with a Venetian plaster. The sizes and shapes of the tiles may vary, I would love to see these done in a diamond configuration!

Now for a more glam approach, is this Mother-of-Pearl Semi-Precious Parquet tile from Paris Ceramics. These pearls are harvested from the sides of abandoned pearl oysters and fresh water pearl mussel shells. They are so delicate and beautiful; I would love to use this in any feminine bathroom setting to create a luxurious feel. I adore the detail in the patterns and tiling. It can be applied to flooring, exterior and interior walls, counter tops as well as insertion into architectural elements. Who knew that architectural elements could be the dazzling charm and center piece in any room?

Now that I have informed you about these products, do you see walls in a new way? The Next time you go to designing a space remember like always, “it’s all in the details”. If you are looking for more ways to be inspired about how to customize your look you can view my work here.
