Mirror, mirror on the wall…What trend setting designs are in store?

As the old expression goes, we look in the mirror because we are fascinated with the “fairest” form of all – the human form.  You’d be surprised just how the human form is setting trends in interior design. See if these fairest forms of all don’t surprise and delight you like they do me. Is this Jennifer Lopez dancing, Natalie Coughlin swimming or Shawn Johnson finishing a routine? Either way, this is a stunning study of the female form made into a chandelier. Wouldn’t Sigmund Freud have a field day over this study of positive and negative space in the human face. It is fun to think of how the eyes would change in this chair, based on what the person is wearing for example, hot pink, polka dots or even sequins. With this hand towel and towel bar it is almost as if your butler is standing right by your side, to hand you your linen. This room that I came across is a great example of how to combine contemporary and traditional furniture in the same space. These chairs just make me smile; the act of sitting in them reminds me of the pleasure of a mother’s embrace. The skeleton form in this chair is dramatically beautiful, at a glance you recognize the rib-cage and pelvic bones; it looks as if it was just dug out of the Pompeii ruins. Interior design that is also art like these pieces inspires me to set high standards when I look in the mirror with my work.
